Douyin and Instagram: compare posts at the same age
Review your own post metrics with a consistent window and clear denominators. A worked example shows how to turn the data into the next content experiment.
Compare similar posts after the same amount of time. A post published yesterday and one published last month have had different opportunities to collect views and interactions. That difference needs to be accounted for before judging an idea.
Make a small, consistent table
Export or copy data from your own dashboard. Use columns for date, views, likes, comments, shares and saves, keeping the platform and observation window consistent. A missing field is missing evidence, not a zero.
Creator Lens currently accepts your pasted CSV. It does not sign in to Douyin or Instagram, and it does not collect private account data on your behalf. Douyin and TikTok are distinct products.
Keep the denominator visible
In a worked example, two posts have 1,200 and 3,100 views. Their provided likes, comments, shares and saves total 125 and 265. Combined, that is 390 provided interactions divided by 4,300 views, or about 9.07%.
This calculated ratio is not a universal platform engagement score. It depends on which fields you supplied, and it is different from averaging two individual percentages. Label the fields and denominator whenever you share the number.
Turn an observation into a test
A higher result can suggest a promising angle, but it does not establish the cause. Compare the opening, format, subject and publication context. Choose one change for the next few posts and define what would count as a useful result.
For example, test a more specific opening while keeping the topic and format similar. Record saves and shares if the goal is useful reference content; record qualified clicks if the goal is site traffic. No metric guarantees a future result.
